Welcome

In this issue of the newsletter, we are continuing to develop a home "From the Ground Up." We've been comparing the parts in building a home to the parts of the human body. And now it's time to give you the "real skinny" on "Skin."

You may or may not know it, but skin is known as the largest organ of the human body. Skin is made up of multiple layers of tissue that guard the underlying muscles and organs. As the interface with the body's surroundings, skin plays the most important role in protecting the body. Its other main function is insulation and temperature regulation.

And so it is with the "Skin" of the house - Insulation, Windows and Doors, Tyvek, Drywall/Sheet Rock, Siding and Shingles. Each material contributes to the multiple layering effect that guards the interior, providing both protection and temperature regulation.

Selection of these products is very important to the long-term maintenance, comfort and livability of your home. Keep reading to see how we can make sure the skin of your home begins and remains healthy.

Happy reading!
