Meet the Shores

Dick and Patrice Shore

521 Swingabout
Stoney Point

Year built: 2003

Dick and Patrice Shore contacted Jim Beard Homes in early 2002 to help them select an ideal lot in the Stoney Point development on Lake Greenwood. Jim and Lee then helped them design and place their home on the site. The hillcrest location and views of the lake and golf course required special consideration. Clearing and grading the lot properly enhanced these amazing views and provided contours in the backyard. This enabled the Shores to install a waterfall and reflecting pond.

After a steady stream of visitors, they decided they needed more space. They interviewed several remodeling firms whose ideas involved destruction of the first floor in order to add an additional bedroom, bath and bonus room to the second story. They consulted with Lee and decided that Jim Beard Homes would again be the best fit for them, using their insights and experience to effectively design the much-needed space and maintain the integrity of the original house.

While the Shores went on a cruise, their attic space was transformed into an additional 1,400 sq. ft. of beautiful, functional space. The rear covered porch became a permanent sunroom and a new screen porch and deck were added.

The Shores couldn't be more pleased. "Everything looks like it was always part of the original plan of the house."
