Jim Beard - Founder Jim's love for building began early in life while helping with various projects on his family's Mississippi farm. He has also enjoyed building model ships and airplanes for many years. Employed as an apprentice carpenter during high school, Jim developed hands-on framing and trim carpentry experience. After serving a four year "hitch" in the Marine Corps and graduating from Augusta College, Jim began his sales career. In 1979, he moved to Hilton Head Island to pursue the real estate profession. He quickly became broker and manager for the condominium and time share sales division. In 1986, Jim formed Jim Beard Development Corporation.
